(Idre Fjäll) Canada’s Reece Howden won the men’s ski cross World Cup event in Idre Fjäll, Sweden on Saturday.
Howden, of Cultus Lake, BC, also posted his second World Cup victory this season, following that acquired in Val Thorens, France on December 21, 2020, and his third overall in his career.
The 22-year-old skier edged Switzerland’s Jonas Lenherr and German Niklas Bachsleitner in the super-final, in order.
For his part, Montrealer Christopher Delbosco finished third in the small final, therefore seventh overall.
In the ladies’ category, the French Alizée Baron and Marielle Berger Sabbatel achieved a double.
The podium was completed by the Swiss Fanny Smith.
Tiana Gairns of Prince George, BC, won the small final and was the maple leaf top representative by virtue of her fifth place finish.
His compatriots Courtney Hoffos and Marielle Thompson drilled the top 10 finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
Another ski cross event will be presented in Idre Fjäll, Sweden on Sunday.
