Skeleton Crew: the trailer finally unveiled

In the universe of  Game of Thrones, it is said that “when a Lannister is born, the Gods toss a coin“. A proverb that finds a particular echo with the  Star Wars series on Disney+, capable of delighting fans as much as outraging them. Since the very promising launch of  The Mandalorian, we have become accustomed to being alternately excited and disappointed by the series projects announced by Disney. While the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu quickly managed to build a solid fan base, we had to wait for Star Wars: Andor and the animated series The Bad Batch to discover series that arouse the support of (almost) everyone.

However, there are many reasons to be impatient to discover Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Although the first presentation that was made of it, “a Stranger Things in space” has enough to leave one skeptical, The project gradually took shape as a tribute to the productions of the Amblin Entertainment studio, founded by Steven Spielberg and which imposed the codes of entertainment cinema in the 1980s/1990s. In addition, the series can count on prestigious filmmakers from the A24 stable, such as the Daniels (Everything, Everywhere, All At Once), Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) and David Lowery (A Ghost Story, The Green Knight)). Finally, the presence in the cast of the brilliant Jude Law and the incredible Irish actress Kerry Condon (Rome, Better Call Saul, The Banshees of Inisherin) promises us solid acting performances.

A week after revealing the first images, Lucasfilm took advantage of D23 to reveal the first trailer for the series, available below.

While the series does indeed seem to be aimed at young people, with a decidedly light tone, fans will appreciate the very Goonies spirit of the trailer. These first images also allow us to learn the true nature of Jude Law's character, who will play a Jedi. Let's also note that the photography of Skeleton Crew seems particularly successful. We also salute the desire to seek a tone specific to the series and some extremely neat shots!

Created by Jon Watts (the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy) and his long-time collaborator Christopher Ford, Star Wars: Sleketon Crew is also produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, and is set in the Mandoverse. Either way, we can't wait to discover this new Star Wars series. It is scheduled to launch on December 3, 2024 on Disney+. We hope it lives up to our expectations! Did you like this article?
