In his beginnings, he appeared in a number of silent German films. He also starred in the silent Egyptian film “Zeinab”, and this was his first work in Egyptian cinema, and he left medicine for the love of art.

From the Bab al-Khalq neighborhood, the story of the artist, Siraj Munir, began, who was sent by the family to study medicine in Germany and his circumstances led him to work in a cinema studio.

With the beginning of World War II, he decided to return to Cairo after losing his dream of becoming a doctor, and he was accepted as a member of the Ramses Theater, and after a while the first opportunity came in the cinema, so he was assigned a role in the movie “Zainab” to follow him after that.

Siraj Mounir had predicted his death, and he told his friend, director Helmy Rafla, one day before his death, and he told him a text: “For your sake, I will die for you tomorrow.”

Which actually happened until he passed away on September 13, 1957.
