The Chinese shipbuilding company Dalian Shipbuilding has successfully launched the new tenth Type 055 large destroyer and started the construction of another hull, reports Naval News.
In parallel, another Type 052D destroyer is laid in the shipyard, — this is evidenced by the size of the new modules — 18 and 20 meters respectively.
Manufacturing facilities
Dalian is one of the two main naval shipyards, along with the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, where all the latest guided missile destroyers are built for the Narodno – the Chinese Liberation Army (PLA). The latest construction of new warships for Dalian is being done at a subsidiary shipyard, commonly called Dagushan.
Observers say this development may indicate that Dalian Shipbuilding is trying to free up more production capacity for commercial construction.
