In 2024, the Radio Dictator of National Unity will once again unite thousands of Ukrainians around the world. This year, the author of the text will be a well-known Ukrainian writer.

We are talking about Oksana Zabuzhko, whose works have long been part of the literary canon of modern Ukraine, writes Suspilne Kultura. And it will be read no less the iconic figure is the writer, musician and military serviceman Pavlo Vyshebaba, who embodies the strength of spirit and indomitability of the Ukrainian people by his example.

Details of this year's radio dictation were reported by Dmytro Horkin, a member of the board of the Public Broadcaster, and Yuliya Sheludko, project coordinator, on the air of Ukrainian Radio. They emphasized that even in conditions of full-scale war, this event continues to unite Ukrainians in different parts of the planet.

  • Pavlo Vyshebaba is a man of many talents, whose poetry and music help Ukrainians to realize depth of current events. His collection “Just don't write to me about the war”, published in 2022, became a voice for many who are going through these difficult times.

For the third time, Ukrainians are writing radio dictation during a full-scale invasion: in shelters, schools, universities, at work, even at the front. We want everyone who can find a safe place to join hundreds of thousands of people around the world in writing a radio dictation,
– noted Yulia Sheludko.

So, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. 00, to the Day of Ukrainian writing and language, radio dictation will be broadcast on all platforms of Suspilny. You can listen to it on the airwaves of Ukrainian Radio and Radio Kultura, on the Suspilne Kultura TV channel, as well as online on YouTube and Suspilne Facebook pages.

The most active participants of this action are traditionally schoolchildren, students and educators, but every time they listen to the radio dictation people of different professions and age categories join. Last year, the text of the dictation was prepared by writer Kateryna Kalytko, and read by actor Oleksiy Hnatkovskyi.
