"Shakhtar" says goodbye to its football player

The goalkeeper of Donetsk "Shakhtar" Andriy Pyatov has completed his performances for the club and can start his coaching career.

This was reported by the club's odious general director Sergey Palkin in a comment to the club's press service:

" Andriy is now completing his career of a football player in our club. He has come a long, bright way – 16 years, 482 games, a lot of titles, victories. We should be grateful to him for that.

On August 6, we will play a charity match with “Tottenham”. They offered him to play. We have to thank him for what he has done for the club. I am completely sure that the stadium will be full and there will be Ukrainian fans. I hope that he will accept this invitation, play in this match, and we will say goodbye to him in a very good way, as our legend, as a goalkeeper.

We say goodbye to him as a footballer, but we would like to see him in our coaching staff led by Patrick van Leeuwen as goalkeeping coach. We invite him to join because his knowledge, the experience he has, his charisma are very important to us. We have a lot of young footballers and his help is very important for us. I am sure that he will help us.

It is worth noting that earlier in one of the interviews, 39-year-old Pyatov stated his desire to play for 1-2 years before taking the role of coach, even if “Shakhtar” as a goalkeeper, he will not be needed.

Let us remind you that in 2017 “Shakhtar” forbade the players and children who went with them to the match against Donetsk “Olympic” to wear T-shirts in support of ATO soldiers. Shortly before the match between “Olympic” and “Miner” parents of children were warned that they should go to the field in everyday clothes, and not in t-shirts of the campaign with the inscription “My dad” on the back. hero”. “Olympic” was considered the nominal host in the match, whose football players also appeared in their usual uniforms.

"We know for sure who is the organizer of this event. We know for sure that today some people want to divert us from the main topic of recent times – the topic of Mariupol. This is why such events are organized to disgrace our name. The saddest thing is that people stop at nothing and are ready to disguise themselves as children in order to achieve their goal,” said Sergey Palkin.
