According to sexologist Stephanie Fabion, women aged 40+ continue to actively engage in sex and more openly tell their partners about their intimate desires. The expert believes that these findings are very valuable for healthcare professionals. They will be able to provide timely assistance to patients who have decreased sexual desire.
According to the results of the study, a loss of interest in carnal pleasures was recorded in only a quarter of the surveyed participants. The same number of women said that sex is a very important part of life, not only at 40, but also at 50 and 60 years old.
The level of estrogen in the blood, which is responsible for the desire for intimacy in women, depends on race and ethnicity. For African women, sex after 40 is as important as it is at 20. Chinese women and Japanese women noted that they were more active in their youth. According to the conclusions of scientists, this is not related to biological factors and depends only on socio-cultural characteristics. It is noted that the quality of sex depends on the psychological and physical condition of a person.
