Gunfire has been fired at a hospital in the US state of Minnesota. Shortly thereafter, there should have been an explosion. One person was arrested.
An armed man opened fire on Tuesday in a clinic in the US state of Minnesota and, according to media reports, seriously injured at least five people. Accordingly, a bomb exploded shortly afterwards in the hospital in the small town of Buffalo. The shooter was arrested.
The background to the crime was initially unclear.
The police were called to the Allina Health Clinic shortly before 11 a.m. (local time, 6 p.m. CET), as police chief Pat Budke told the TV station KSTP. About half an hour later, an explosive device detonated, reported the newspaper “Star Tribune”, citing emergency reports. An injured woman with three gunshot wounds was flown to a hospital.
According to local media, there was no longer any further threat to the Buffalo population.
The city is a good 60 kilometers northwest of Minneapolis.
