Thanks to this application, the amount of the benefit can be increased.
As the „Goniec” portal reminds, the amount of pensions of Polish seniors leaves much to be desired. Many retirees have to give up on meeting even the most basic needs. No wonder many of them are looking for a way to increase their income. It turns out that submitting certain documents to ZUS can increase the benefit paid. What documents are we talking about?
Polish seniors' pensions
After last year's indexation of pensions, the lowest benefit is PLN 1,780.96 gross. And although seniors will face another indexation in March, there are many indications that it will not be as spectacular as it was in the last two years. As indicated by „Goniec”, it is supposed to amount to around PLN 100.
It is no wonder that many seniors are trying to find additional sources of income for their household budgets. One way to increase the benefit paid by ZUS is to submit appropriate documents to the office.
Many retirees are not aware that they have documents in their home archives that can have a real impact on the amount of their benefits. This applies in particular to people who worked before 1999.
These documents can increase the amount of your pension
Since 1999, each person insured with ZUS has had their own account, where all contributions paid are recorded. People who worked before this date must independently provide ZUS with documents confirming both the fact of employment and the remuneration paid. Thanks to them, it is possible to correctly calculate the pension.
If we have documents that ZUS does not have yet, we should present them at the office. It is worth checking employment certificates and certificates of employment and remuneration again.
If we do not have the aforementioned documents, we can provide other evidence that confirms employment. This includes an insurance card or a payroll obtained from the archives. After submitting the application, the pension will be recalculated. Importantly, ZUS cannot reduce our benefit if the recalculation is to our disadvantage.
