The British edition of The Telegraph has published the results of a study that claims that fasting for only three days allows you to completely restore and reboot the human body's immune system. Moreover, according to scientists, a similar effect is achieved regardless of age.

This discovery was made by specialists at the University of South Carolina and call the results of their work extremely important. Scientists have found that prolonged fasting forces stem cells to actively produce completely new leukocytes (white blood cells), which have a pronounced ability to resist infection. This approach, the study authors argue, can be very beneficial for people with weak immune systems, as well as for those undergoing chemotherapy. A three-day hunger strike will also help the elderly, whose immunity weakens with age and is less adapted to fight various diseases.
Researchers have been able to prove that a strict diet forces stem cells in the body to act on the production of a new portion of white blood cells, completely recycling damaged immune cells and restoring immunity.
