Several schools and daycare centers in Greater Moncton received threats over the weekend. The Francophone South School District (DSFS) explains that it contacted the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. After investigation, it was concluded that there is no danger for a safe return to school or daycare, explains Jean-Luc Thériault, director of strategic relations at DSFS. p> As for the Anglophone East School District, they indicate having been informed by the police that the individuals [at the origin of a threat] were arrested without incident and there are no longer any security risks. The email sent to the parents of the students of Moncton High school by district principal Randolph J. MacLean, specifies that classes will resume as usual, but that a police presence will be visible, out of an abundance of caution. < p class="StyledBodyHtmlParagraph-sc-48221190-4 hnvfyV">It is unclear whether the incidents in the two districts are related. The RCMP had not responded to our requests for information at the time of publication.
