Russian President Vladimir Putin does not consider his decision regarding a large-scale invasion of Ukraine to be a mistake. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, writes Europa Press.

He shared his impressions of a telephone conversation with Putin the day before. Scholz said that he did not hear the understanding that the invasion was a mistake – Putin's position hasn't changed.

I haven't seen any new positions come up, but it's still important to talk to each other… However, it's important to talk to each other, and to say that What do I think about this topic. Because I am absolutely sure that Russia should withdraw its troops… We need to talk about this. And I did it.

< strong>BAGNET reminds that the telephone conversation between Olaf Scholz and Putin took place on September 13. During the conversation, the Chancellor urged the owner of the Kremlin to withdraw troops from Ukraine, not to shell the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and to allow the Red Cross to the Ukrainian prisoners of war.
