Scandal in France: a child is brought home by the police because his mother no longer paid for the canteen

September 12, 2021 by archyde

History is causing a stir among our French neighbors. A boy, barely 7 years old, was forcibly taken home by a municipal police officer because he had not paid many bills from the canteen. The town hall of Saint-Médard-de-Guizières specified that to date the mother of the schoolboy had a debt of 800 euros towards the school. This equates to more or less 400 unpaid meals since 2019, as reported by the site 20minutes.

Facts that the mother does not deny, but she nevertheless regrets the intervention of the police which she considers a terrible humiliation for her son. She added that she had planned to remedy the situation later this month. The town hall mentioned a “last resort” solution, after several discussions and letters on this subject.
