Saudi Arabia overtakes Russia in oil supplies to China

In August, Saudi Arabia overtook Russia in terms of oil supplies to China, despite the fact that China has significantly increased its imports of raw materials from Russia, informs the Expert with reference to Reuters.

Russia delivered 8.34 million tons of oil to its biggest oil buyer last month. Exports increased by 28 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

At the same time, the volume of supplies from Saudi Arabia reached 8.47 million tons, or 1.99 million barrels per day. August figures exceeded the level of last year by five percent. From January to August 2022, the state shipped 58.31 million tons of crude oil to China, compared to 55.79 million tons supplied by Russia.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, Saudi Arabia has remained the main supplier of fuel to China.
