The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the EU will maintain anti-Russian sanctions and does not consider it necessary to “seek appeasement.” Her words at session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg are reported by Reuters.
"I want to say very clearly: the sanctions will remain. It's time for us to show determination and not seek appeasement, that should be clear", — she said.
The EC President also stressed that the European Union intends to stand firm in the issue of financial support to Ukraine.
