Samsung is preparing a camera module with a radically different design for its upcoming Galaxy flagship. Gizmochina writes about it. Huge, protruding camera modules are a common problem with today's flagship smartphones. High-quality photos require appropriate optics, and vendors have not yet been able to overcome physics, so the thickness of the smartphone in the place of the cameras is often twice that in other places of the body.

Right now, Samsung is trying to rethink the structure of the camera module with a set of prisms, and the technology has already received the name ISOCELL ALoP (All Lenses on Prism). The key difference of such a module – all lenses are placed in it parallel, and not perpendicular to the smartphone body. That is, such a large protrusion of the cameras will no longer be needed, while the technical capabilities of the lens will not decrease.
The debut of the new ALoP technology is expected to take place with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim in 2025. The smartphone should become a competitor to the iPhone 17 Slim (or Air), for which no changes in the dimensions of the camera unit have been announced so far, except for a reduction in their number.
