Samsung prepares to release 1 million Galaxy Rings due to high demand

It appears that demand for the Galaxy Ring is far exceeding Samsung's expectations. Initially, the company made cautious predictions about the relatively "modest" production However, due to the high public interest in the Galaxy Ring, Samsung is increasing production to one million units.

China seems to be the market where the Galaxy Ring is generating the most interest. According to The Elec, Samsung has set initial production volume at 400,000 units. After all, this is the first generation of the product and it's not particularly cheap, so the company will be keeping a close eye on how the market reacts. If demand were as expected or slightly lower, the company would maintain the same level of production. Otherwise – would increase it.

However, it seems that there is a lot of interest in the new device. According to the report, initial demand is so strong that Samsung has ordered 600,000 additional units of the Galaxy Ring, bringing the total to one million. Thus, the company aims to provide a sufficient number of devices for all potential buyers. Apparently, the niche for the "smart" the ring turned out to be larger than expected. It is also possible that Samsung made it grow by attracting fans of the brand's products.

Samsung is not the first in the segment of smart rings. Oura has been selling devices in this format since 2017. However, since launching its first product, it has shipped just over 1 million units. Therefore, if Samsung's new expectations are met, sales will be close to what Oura has sold in its entire existence, which is impressive. Samsung's latest product in this segment is the Oura Ring 3, released in 2017 at a price of $299.

Leaks about the Oura Ring 4 suggest that it is already in development. We'll have to wait and see what it has to offer to try and top Samsung's smart ring in terms of people's interest.
