In a few more weeks it will be the first year since the announcement of Barcelona: Lionel Messi leaves the institution. Despite all the time that has passed, there are still stories related to what happened in the corridors of the Camp Nou between the club's board and the footballer before the shocking statement was released. In fact, one of the recent ones has to do with Sadio Mané.
Bacary Cissé, who is known for being the adviser to the Senegalese soccer player, gave an interview to the After Foot program of the RMC Sport radio station. In the talk, the close friend of the scorer revealed that the Argentine had set the incorporation of a couple of players as a condition to renew his contract with the Catalans: the African and a defender, a compatriot of the Albiceleste captain.
“Last year, Mané could have signed for Barcelona. It was Leo Messi who demanded the signing of Mané from Barcelona in the negotiations. He gave two names: Sadio Mané and an Argentine central defender ”, Cissé confessed in the chat with the French media. Although, as is known, Lionel left Catalonia and signed for PSG.
Precisely, Paris Saint Germain was able to reunite Messi and Mané. In the same dialogue, Cissé revealed that the capital as a whole contacted Sadio's entourage to offer him to go to the Parc des Princes. On the Senegalese side, they analyzed the proposal, but the inevitable internal changes at 'Les Parisiens' froze the negotiations.
“Yes, PSG became interested in Sadio. Leonardo had several contacts with his German agent, they met and talked about the ins and outs of a possible transfer of Sadio to PSG, but it stopped there. Everyone knows that Leonardo was on a knife edge, so we had to wait,” said the counselor.

Neither Barcelona nor PSG
Sadio Mané left Liverpool to start a new challenge in his career. This is how the striker joined the ranks of Bayern Munich and signed a contract until mid-2025. “My agent told me that there were demands from other clubs, but for me the sensations were correct from the beginning when Bayern presented their plan with me”, the striker told the Bild newspaper.
“For me, it was the right club at the right time”, he added. “It's one of the biggest clubs in the world. And the team is always fighting for all the titles”he explained. Bayern won the Bundesliga for the tenth year in a row and Mané said he wants “to do everything to ensure that I win more titles with my teammates”.
