S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 wins PC Gamer's “Spirit of the PC” award

The well-known gaming publication PC Gamer recognized the Ukrainian game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl in its this year's nominations, awarding it the title of «Spirit of the PC». Journalists highly appreciated the atmosphere, attention to detail and uniqueness of the game from the GSC Game World studio.

This was reported on the publication's website.

What experts say

The PC Gamer editorial team noted that the procedural generation of names for each character — even enemies — adds a special charm to the game. Journalist Joshua Valens emphasized:

«In most games, mobs would simply be called „Bandit“ or „Patrolman on Duty“. Instead, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 gives them names like „Vanya the Thug“ or „Gena Sleepy“. It's the little things that give the world humanity and make the game authentic».

Editor Fraser Brown is excited about how S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 reminds him of the atmosphere of 2007: «The game has not lost its quirky soul, which constantly surprises».

Robert Jones, editor of the print version of the publication, noted the high level of detail and complexity:

«This is one of the most mature and exciting games. It truly captures the essence of computer gaming and deserves the title of „Spirit of PC“».
