Russians denied access to participation in the English TOEFL exam

              

The International TOEFL English exam organized by ETS is no longer available to citizens of Russia. When registering a resident of the Russian Federation on the exam website, a message appears that user data does not meet the requirements of ETS.

< p>ETS confirmed that citizens of Russia and North Korea are prohibited from creating accounts or enrolling in exams at the request of the US Department of the Treasury. Restrictions apply to both people and residents of Russia.

Conducting TOEFL exams in Russia and Belarus was terminated in early March against the backdrop of the beginning of an armed invasion of Ukraine. Another common system for assessing the level of English, IELTS, also announced its withdrawal from Russia.

IELTS and TOEFL are international systems for assessing English language proficiency , the most rated in the world. They allow foreign students to enroll in educational institutions in Europe and North America.

According to the official website, the TO certificate EFL is accepted by 11.5 thousand universities and organizations in more than 160 countries around the world.
