The blockade of the Kaliningrad region may lead to an armed conflict with Russia.
“If this (the blockade) occurs, then things may escalate into an armed conflict. And you have to tell the truth. According to Article 4 of our Constitution, the Russian state is obliged to defend its territory and ensure its security. If we feel that this security is being violated and threatens us with the loss of territory, then, of course, we will take extreme measures, and nothing will stop us, & ndash; Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy chairman of the committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on international affairs, told Russian television.
He said that NATO “is still thinking about it”, and said that Lithuania, by its decision to limit transit to the Kaliningrad region rf acted "at the direction of two countries– First of all, Great Britain and the United States of America, because they would very much like Russia to get involved in some kind of conflict.
