Judging by the fact that the engines were started on the car, the designers are at the stage of preparation for flight tests, but before the Il-114-300 will make several runs along the runway. The completion of the installation of all onboard equipment also speaks of reaching the final round of testing. Nevertheless, it is too early to say when the aircraft will be accepted and its serial production will begin. Initially, this was supposed to take place in 2019, but due to the current circumstances, the timing was adjusted. Nevertheless, it is already known that they want to produce 12 copies of the Russian aircraft per year.
The history of this model begins in the days of the USSR. In 1990, the Il-114 was adopted and its production began, but PW127H power units, manufactured in Canada, were installed on it, and all electronics were produced in the USA by Collins. In this form, two dozen aircraft were created. In 2014, a need arose for a similar air passenger transport, and it was decided to rework the finished copy by introducing domestically produced units.
First of all, new engines were created for the car, developing 3,000 horsepower, and in an increased mode, the power increases by 600 hp. The TV7-117ST-01 motors were developed by the specialists of the Klimov company, which is part of the United Engine Corporation. Now the Il-114-300 is a completely Russian aircraft, which will affect its price and operating costs. From the original version, it has an increased capacity, now there are 68 seats in the cabin, as well as an increased flight range.
