According to the organizers of the event, the Russian invasion “protects Russian-speaking people” in eastern Ukraine .

About 2,000 predominantly Russian-speaking demonstrators protested in the German city of Cologne on Sunday demanding the German government stop supporting Ukraine and lift sanctions against the Russian Federation*.

This is reported by Reuters.

It is noted that the rally was organized by Russian-speaking diaspora groups in Cologne. The protesters held Russian flags, as well as banners with NATO letters crossed out in red. The organizers collected donations to support supposedly “separatist forces” in Donbass.

Pro-Russian event organizer Yelena Kolbasnikova reiterated President Putin's claim that Russia's invasion “protects Russian-speaking people” in eastern Ukraine.

In front of the pro-Russian rally, several dozen people came out, gathered in the shadow of the huge Gothic cathedral of Cologne. They expressed support for Ukraine.
