russia took away the anti-aircraft missile defense systems that had been there since 2020 from the Kuril Islands. They were probably transferred to the border with Ukraine.
This is reported by Kyodo News with reference to satellite images of the American company MaxarTechnologies.
It is noted that Yu Koizumi, a military expert from the University of Tokyo, noticed that that the S-300B4 complexes, which were placed in the Kasat Bay and near Yuzhno-Kurilsk, have disappeared. He also expressed confidence that the Russian military took old tanks and artillery from the Kuril Islands.
According to him, the weapons stored at the military facility on Sakhalin will be sent to the front in Ukraine.
Koizumi believes that troops from the Far East are also being transferred to Ukraine. According to him, the elite marine brigade based in Vladivostok suffered heavy losses in the fighting, and some residents of Iturupu and Kunashira islands died after mobilization.
Earlier BAGNET reported that earlier, Russia delivered operational-tactical missile complexes “Iskander-M” to Belarus.
