Russia terminates the program of export flights from abroad

The Russian operational headquarters for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection decided to terminate the export flight program due to the resumption of transport links between the states.

“The operational headquarters made a decision to terminate the export flight program due to the resumption of transport links between the states and the possibility for Russian citizens to return home by regular flights,” the operational headquarters said in a statement to Interfax on Friday.

The report notes that “as an alternative to export flights, planes returning to Russia after carrying out cargo, passenger and cargo flights will be used on a commercial basis.” According to the headquarters, such flights are currently operated by Aeroflot (MCX: AFLT).

Since the closure of the borders of the Russian Federation, more than 580 export flights have been organized, on which more than 92 thousand passengers have been transported.
