MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia has recruited enough volunteers for the third stage of trials of the COVID-19 vaccine, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which has invested in vaccine development, said Monday.
“In just two weeks, 55,000 volunteers have already been recruited in Moscow,” Dmitriev said.
Russia began recruiting volunteers for a third phase of vaccine trials involving 40,000 people on 26 August. The first results are expected in October or November this year, officials said earlier.
