Despite the country's large budget, Russia will face problems restocking equipment due to the impact of Western sanctions and lack of experience in technology production. This was reported by the press service of the British Ministry of Defense with reference to intelligence data on Twitter.
“In early June, the first deputy chairman of the military-industrial commission of Russia predicted that government spending on defense would increase by 600-700 billion rubles, which could increase the Russian defense budget by 20%,” the agency said in a publication.
As noted in the summary, state funding will allow the country's defense-industrial base to be slowly mobilized to meet the demands placed on it by military operations in Ukraine.
However, the military department predicts that the consequences of Western sanctions and lack of experience in the production of equipment will cause certain problems.
“Russian production of high-quality optics and advanced electronics is likely to stop is problematic and can undermine efforts to replace equipment lost in Ukraine,” military experts note.
In addition, intelligence reported that the main efforts of the Russian troops were concentrated on the offensive in the Severodonetsk direction, and the western grouping of state forces -the aggressor for the first time in a few weeks advanced a little in the Kharkiv region.
