Russia began “Practical exercises on the preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons,” the country’s Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday, May 21. Vladimir Putin ordered the exercise earlier this month “in response to provocative statements and threats by individual Western officials,” the Russian ministry explained, according to Voice of America.
