Russia and Belarus excluded from the 2024 Youth Hockey World Championship

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has published a list of participants for the youth world championship 2024 in Gothenburg (Sweden), without including the national teams of Russia and Belarus, according to Podrobnosti. 

< strong>Group A includes: current world champion – Team Canada, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Latvia.

Group B – Czech Republic, USA, Slovakia, Switzerland and Norway.

The day before, on January 6, the Canadian team won the Youth Ice Hockey World Championship for the 20th time, beating the Czech Republic with a score of 3: 2. Russia and Belarus were suspended from participating in the tournament due to the armed invasion of Ukraine.
