“In order to pay off wage arrears, Rostrud organized comprehensive work to control the situation with delayed payment of wages. As a result of the measures taken, over 220 thousand citizens were paid back wages. The amount of payments for 7 months amounted to about 5.8 billion rubles,” – said in the message of the Rostrud press service, received by Interfax.
As noted in the press service, the measures taken by Rostrud help reduce wage arrears. So, according to Rosstat, as of September 1, 2020, the total wage arrears amounted to 1.83 billion rubles, which is 342 million rubles. below the level of early August, which is the lowest since 2018.
According to the head of Rostrud Mikhail Ivankov, “issues related to non-payment of wages are under the special control of the department, we receive complaints from citizens, track messages in the media, the Internet, interact with other authorities and take prompt action based on the information received.”
The press service clarified that, following the results of control and supervisory measures, more than 500 materials were sent to the prosecutor's office and investigation in order to consider the issue of bringing to criminal responsibility those responsible for violating the legislation on wages.
