Roskomnadzor said on Friday that it is taking punitive action against a number of foreign IT companies, including TikTok, Telegram, Zoom, Discord and Pinterest.
Roskomnadzor said in a statement that the measures were taken in response to companies' failure to remove content that the regulator has flagged as illegal and will continue until they comply with the requirements. Roskomnadzor did not specify what action would be taken.
Earlier, Russian courts fined the American live streaming service Twitch 2 million rubles ($33,000) and messaging service Telegram 11 million rubles ($179,000) for violating laws on military censorship.
