Rocambole, the literary Netflix
Available for a year, the mobile application offers to read 5 minutes of original literary series per day on smartphone or tablet. Perfect when you have a few minutes “to spare” in the metro, the doctor's waiting room or during a coffee break. At the origin of the project, two former students: Camille Pichon, holder of the Master of digital edition from Enssib (National School of Information and Library Sciences), and François Delporte, graduate of the school of trade in Lyon, whose ambition was to revive the serial novel.
The concept: read series in 5 minutes
It works since this “literary Netflix” has already attracted more than 15,000 users in France. It offers 60 series, and two new original series each week. Science fiction, romance, thriller … there is something for everyone. We can even find a literary series called Coronavirus , written by Neil Jomunsi, which plunges the reader into a future where CoV-41 is decimating Paris … And the library is likely to grow even more since the start-up has just raised 350 000 euros. Note that the Premium subscription costs 3.99 euros per month, but you can test without subscribing: with Freemium, reading the first episode of each literary series is free and without advertising.
