Riverdale season 5 : five theories on the rest of the series

Patience is necessary before returning to Riverdale for its season 5 : it is only in 2021 that the series should make its return on Netflix. In the meantime, fans already have some ideas on what might happen in the future. Here are 5 theories on what awaits Archie, Veronica, Jughead, Betty and others.

Following the outbreak of Coronavirus, the season 4 Riverdale has not really had the desired end by the writers : the production was forced to delete three episodes that had not been filmed prior to the interruption of filming in march. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creator and showrunner of the series, has revealed that the season 5 will start with these episodes deleted before a big jump back in time. But what will happen in the sequel ? The series will she still string together the plots improbable ? Here are a few ideas on what we can expect :

1. Jellybean and Charles are the “voyeur”

If season 4 of Riverdale has played with our nerves with the plot on Jughead (Cole Sprouse) who, surprise, has never been dead (no one has ever believed in, but hey…), the main plot of this fourth season for the voyeur who sends tapes to the people of Riverdale. According to a theory of fans, two characters could be the original : Jellybean (Trinity Likins), the small sister-in-law of Jug, and Charles (Wyatt Nash). It is known that this latter has a curious relationship with Chic (Hart Denton) as he has visited him in prison in season 4. According to fans, Charles would have so manipulated Jellybean to turn against his brother.

2. Archie and Veronica are going to break

In the last few episodes of season 4, Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) are close together and are even embraced in the musical episode dedicated to Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The prom could well be fatal to the couple Varchie : Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa suggested that Veronica (Camila Mendes) could well make a few discoveries during the evening. Like for example the kiss between his beloved and his BFF ? It doesn’t seem entirely impossible that this is well as a single that Veronica and Archie will leave Riverdale to pursue their graduate studies.

3. Archie and Betty will be on the couple after the time jump

And if couples were completely overwhelmed after the jump in time ? It is, in any case, what you think ! One can imagine that after years spent far away from the city, many of the changes will be in the program in the professional lives but also the sentimental heroes. Therefore, we see Archie and Betty get in a couple during their reunion. A story that could not last very long but it feels good to come as a result of their new closeness in season 4. A bit like Peyton and Lucas in The Brothers Scott, it is easy to imagine a separation for Betty and Jughead, because of the distance.

4. Ross Butler will be back in the series

We believe in less but it is a theory that circulates on the web. In the season 1 of Riverdale, Ross Butler played Reggie Mantle but the actor, who has also signed to play in 13 Reasons Why , where he was Zach Dempsey, had to leave the series and was replaced by Charles Melton. Some imagine already his return in the role… of the cousin of Reggie.

5. Hiram and Hermione are going to get a divorce

Hiram (Mark Consuelo ) is a bit of the worst characters of Riverdale. Yet, Hermione (Marisol Nichols) has decided to stay with him despite the hell that he made him to live. And if it has changed ? After announcing his departure, Marisol Nichols explained that it would eventually return in an important role in the continuation of the series, and her statement suggests that she could (finally) rebel against Hiram. And if the parents of Veronica planted for good in the sequel ?
