Riverdale season 5: filming interrupted temporarily because of the coronavirus

Riverdale season 5: filming interrupted temporarily because of the coronavirus Barely back on film sets, the actors of Riverdale will have to stay at home: according to Variety, the filming of season 5 of the series, as well as others shows shot in Vancouver like Batwoman or Supergirl, are on hold for the moment. Blame it on the coronavirus of course but not because of a positive test among the members of the teams. We explain to you.

On September 14, the filming of season 5 of Riverdale could finally begin after six months of hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. To ensure everyone's safety, the actors and members of the technical team must respect the barrier gestures, be tested and a new protocol has been put in place, especially for the kissing scenes. But 15 days after the start of the shootings, the series faces a new setback.

The filming of Riverdale and other series interrupted

According to Variety, Riverdale and several other series including Batwoman had to put their filming on hiatus this midweek. Why ? Not because of a positive case as was the case for the filming of season 4 of Elite but because of a delay in receiving the results of the Covid-19 screening tests. A source tells the site that filming is therefore interrupted ” temporarily “, the time that the results of the tests carried out are communicated to the teams. According to another source, a single company would be in charge of tests related to the pandemic and would have decided to prioritize the processing of tests from schools in the province. Without the test results, filming cannot resume for the moment, for the safety of the teams.

In addition to Riverdale and Batwoman , filming for Legends of Tomorrow and the final season of Supergirl, which were set to resume this week, have been postponed. We do not know for the moment if the other series shot in Vancouver including A Million Little Things or Good Doctor are also impacted.
