CHD – it's not just about food: read what the problem is and how manifested

The abbreviation RCP stands for “eating disorder”. But here we are not talking about problems with digestion, problems with excessive appetite or its absence. In the new material, we talk about a disorder faced by a large part of the population.

First of all, RCP is an unhealthy mental state. This is stated on the Psychological Support platform.

Eating disorders can manifest as:

  • anorexia nervosa;
  • bulimia nervosa;
  • < li>pathological overeating;

  • pathological selective and restrictive food intake.

In a normal state, food is perceived as a means of ensuring vital activity. However, if a person solves his problems and adapts to reality with the help of food, when the only option for experiencing emotions is to eat stress or reward himself with food, then this is RCP.

About the presence eating disorder is evidenced by the fact that a person:

1. Obsessed with own weightand her self-esteem depends on it. Because of this – constant weighing, obsession with content with nutritional recommendations. At the same time, one's own reflection in the mirror is often disgusting. For the desire to have “ideal” forms, a person is able to induce vomiting, use laxatives and diuretics, work off the consumed food with excessive physical exertion in the gym;

2. He focuses a lot of attention on the diet, divides food into “healthy” and “unhealthy” and feels ashamed when he eats “unhealthy”. It is also possible to exclude certain products from the diet independently – without a doctor's recommendation;

3. Turns eating into a ritual;

4. Performs periodic impulsive uncontrolled overeating.

All this can have negative consequences for the body, and sometimes even lead to a fatal outcome. Also, RCP can cause depressive and anxiety disorders. Due to disorders related to the restriction of food intake (anorexia or bulimia), the cardiovascular, digestive and sexual systems of the body are damaged.

The consequences of compulsive overeating can be pathologies of the digestive system, gallstone disease , diabetes, obesity or hypertension. Therefore, it is important to observe yourself in order to understand in time: are you eating to satisfy your hunger, or are you just coping with stress in this way? do you take care of yourself with food or have you already crossed the line?
