Until recently, the new Renault Clio was in limbo – the management was considering the possibility of abandoning the model. Firstly, in 2024 its electric analogue Renault 5 will appear, and secondly, the new Euro-7 eco-standards will lead to a significant increase in the price of the budget model.

Nevertheless, they decided to release the sixth generation Clio, because at the moment it is the most popular Renault model. To save money, it was decided to build a hatchback on the platform of its predecessor. It will retain the familiar elegant design, but the interior layout will obviously change in the spirit of the Renault Megane – there will be two large displays on the front panel. Autopilot will obviously appear among the options.

In addition, all versions of the new Renault Clio will be electrified. So, the base 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine will be supplemented with a 48-volt “moderate” hybrid installation. The full-fledged hybrid Renault Clio E-Tech will also remain in the lineup, but a new electric motor and a 1.8-liter engine are being prepared for it. But the diesel versions of the hatchback were abandoned.
