French brand Renault presented electric rear-wheel drive hot hatch R5 Turbo 3E Concept with 375 horsepower. Following the Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2, the company with the diamond logo looked over the hot hatch for the inevitable series of electric vehicles. Similar to the Porsche Taycan, a car without an internal combustion engine is called “Turbo”, after which the “3E” is used to indicate that the third line in the line can have an electric transmission.
In fact, the concept is a highly productive similar prototype of the Renault 5, which debuted on the cob of the past fate.

< p>Just like the front axles that run on gasoline, the new R5 Turbo 3E has a rear-wheel drive layout. Renault installed two electric motors – one each on the leather wheel at the back – and upgraded the lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 42 kW-year in the middle of the day. This turns us to the centrally re-engineered Turbo and Turbo 2 engine.
The technical characteristics are so self-defeating, like an ultra-aggressive style. The French brand seems to have a pair of electric motors that secure the heat of 375 kilowatts (280 kilowatts) and 700 newton meters (516 lb-ft) of torque. It is enough for acceleration to 100 km/year in 3.5 seconds and that maximum speed is 200 km/year.
Renault R5 Turbo 3E to ride on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels and weigh 980 kg without the addition of a bulky battery, which takes up to 520 kg. not so bad. To re-charge the battery, it will take about two years from the charger 380 V/32 A.
tubular chassis, electric concept of equipment with transverse roll bars, praised by the FIA, special Drift mode, as well as the main vertical arm of the hand galm. To fix it sideways while the car is collapsing sideways, the R5 Turbo 3E can have at least 10 camera mounting brackets, so you can put it in the middle, so call it.
Silicon body can be 2.02 meters wide, actually 25 cm larger than the Turbo 2, which gives the concept a hostile position. The body height is 4006 mm (including the rear spoiler), the height is 1.32 meters, and the wheelbase is 2.54 meters. The front tires are 225/35 R19 and the rear tires are 325/25 R20.
Renault will present the R5 Turbo 3E next month at the Paris Motor Show 2022. Although there are no future plans for the launch of the concept, Alpine has developed a sports electric Renault 5.
