When an interview was about his daughter, Reiner Calmund suddenly had to fight back tears. The n he makes an emotional confession.
Ex-soccer manager Reiner Calmund (72) is actually known for brisk sayings and tough criticism. An interview with the TV broadcaster Sky shows that “Calli” also has a completely different side. When the 72-year-old is asked about his adopted daughter Nisha, he is close to tears. Calmund interrupts the interview for a moment and has to take a short breath. But why does he suddenly react so emotionally?
In 2013 Reiner Calmund and his wife Sylvia (50) adopted the girl from Thailand. The y had previously tried artificial insemination eight times, ultimately without success. “She had a lot of problems, miscarriages,” revealed the manager legend in an interview with “Sky” presenter Riccardo Basile. “ The doctors were worried about Sylvia.”
By the way, in the video above you can see one of the rare appearances of the Calmunds. But above all, you see Reiner Calmund quite slim and 70 kilos lighter than we have known him before.
Reiner Calmund and his wife Sylvia get to know Nisha and Thailand: “That was something moving”
During a vacation in Thailand, the couple finally met little Nisha in an orphanage. Again and again the girl sought to be close to Sylvia: “That was something moving.” For “Calli” and his Sylvia it was clear:
The y absolutely wanted to adopt little Nisha. But the couple faced some hurdles. “Nisha was actually classified as not adoptable, a ‘special need’ child with special needs.” However, that didn’t stop the two of them from adopting the little one and lovingly caring for her.
Seven years later, Calmund owes in particular to his Sylvia that the child developed so well.

By the way: mainly his Sylvia takes care of raising children, as Calmund revealed in an interview with the “dpa” in 2017. “I’m the boss of the family, but what my wife says is done,” Calli said at the time. He also has a major disadvantage in terms of upbringing: “
The little one is my princess and she knows that very well.”
