Regiment of the Special Operations Forces “Azov” was reorganized into a separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces

Separate regiment of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine "Azov" (not to be confused with the union of the same name within the National Guard) was reorganized into 3rd assault brigade with the same name. This was reported in  the press service of the unit.

"New brigade banners are already conquering the front in the hottest, Bakhmut direction", — noted in message .

BAGNET notes, the regiment "Azov" was created on February 24, 2022 as a volunteer detachment of the territorial defense of the capital. Veterans of the National Guard “Azov” joined its ranks. They defended Kyiv and Kyiv region. In the spring, the unit was reorganized into a regiment of the SOF and took part in combat operations in Zaporozhye direction, in battles Kherson and in Donetsk region.
