Vareniki is a traditional Ukrainian dish that is passed down from generation to generation. However, housewives often come up with their own modified recipe to diversify the daily menu.

There are dozens, maybe even hundreds, of dough recipes for dumplings, most likely it's like borscht: every family has its own.
Agree, sculpting varenyki one hundred percent brings the family together, concentrates goodness and warmth at one table with joint efforts. One of the vivid memories of my childhood is cooking this dish… I will share my family's recipes with you, said Liza Glinska.
Vareniki with potatoes and mushrooms:
Sourdough:
- 200 g of flour (8 tablespoons with a bitter, 1 part)
- 150 g of flour (6 tablespoons with a bitter , part ll)
- 200 ml of milk (0.8 glasses with a volume of 250 ml)
- 100 ml of water (0.4 glasses with a volume of 250 ml)
- 10 g of sugar for salty filling (or 30 g for sweet, 05 tbsp – 1.5 tbsp)
- 30 g of butter
- 2 g of salt (a pinch )
Filling:
- 500 g of potatoes
- 200 g of mushrooms
- 2 onions
- 50 g of butter
- 20 g of oil (1 tbsp.)
- salt and pepper (to taste)

Soup dough:
- 500 g of flour (20 tbsp. bitter)
- 10 g of salt
- 250 ml of boiling water
- 50 ml of sunflower oil (refined)
Filling:
- Cherry
