One person was already dead when police arrived at the house shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The second died later in hospital.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating a possible double murder that took place at a home on Bigelow Crescent in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

When RCMP officers arrived on scene shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday, they found one person deceased and another seriously injured.

The latter later died from her injuries at Stanton Territorial Hospital.

Two police cars were parked on Bigelow Crescent as officers canvassed the street Saturday afternoon.

The agents spent the afternoon in the neighborhood for the purposes of their investigation. They are asking residents on the street where the murders took place and on Williams Avenue to contact them if they have surveillance camera footage taken between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
