Russia is concentrating near the border with Ukraine and on the occupied territories, a large number of transport and launch containers with anti-aircraft guided missiles to the S-300 air defense system.
This is reported by the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In early August, a train left Ulan-Ude with ammunition consisting of 28 wagons with missiles for the S-300 air defense system in the amount of 32 missiles (anti-aircraft guided missiles – ed.). The train will tentatively arrive at the border with Ukraine on the 20th, — Stratcom said in a statement.
It is reported that by mid-August, more than 120 containers with missiles for S-300 air defense systems were seized from the arsenal of complex storage of missiles, ammunition and explosive materials in the Russian city of Kotovo.
It is also known that about 440 TPKs (transport and launch containers – ed.) were assembled in the S-300 air defense system in the Dzhankoy area.
The StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that after the incident in Dzhankoy it is still impossible to say exactly whether these TPKs were completely, partially or not affected at all.
It is also reported that Russia is stockpiling missiles for the S-300 in Zyabrovka (Belarus), 22 km from the border with Ukraine – there, the total number of TPKs exceeds 60 units.
“The threat of massive shelling of the territory of Ukraine, at least with S-300 missiles, is obvious. Taking into account the arrival of trains before the 20th, it is also obvious that they are concentrated before August 24th, – summed up in the StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
