Rape of 12-year-old girl in Vienna: Musk calls acquittal “crazy”

Elon Musk is once again turning his attention to Europe – in this case, Austria. Elon Musk is impressed with the country's justice system.

The trial of a 17-year-old Syrian man, who was also accused of stealing cash and data fraud, as well as raping a 12-year-old girl at the time of the crime, continued on Tuesday. The case has shaken Austria: In 2023, 17 young migrants abused a 12-year-old girl over a period of several months. Over a period of several months, the girl was sexually assaulted by 17 young men. The young men abused her in entrances, parks, toilets and garages.

The hotel room where the teenagers had been abusing the minor was also rented. It was only when the girl's mother noticed that something was wrong with her daughter that the sexual abuse case became public knowledge. After a 16-year-old Syrian was acquitted by the court in early December, the trial of another 17-year-old Syrian continued behind closed doors yesterday. The accused confessed to the crime, but denied that he had used violence and that he knew how old the child really was. In court, he gave the victim's lawyer 100 euros as “compensation”. After a short hearing, he was also acquitted. “It often happens that you first say “no” and then let yourself be persuaded with tenderness,” – said the head of the court.

The verdict not only caused great outrage in Austria, but also became known to Elon Musk. The richest man in the world commented on the X post of the user Dr. Maalouf with the phrase: “This is crazy” (This is madness).

Mask's tweet was reposted 25,000 times and received almost 10,000 comments. The victim's lawyer, Sasha Flatz, also responded to Musk's comment, thanked him for the repost and pointed to the collection of funds for the family of the 12-year-old girl. It remains to be hoped that Elon Musk's participation will ensure that the donation account is replenished, which will allow the victim to start a new life – if that's even possible after this ordeal.

After Elon Musk did his best to help Donald Trump return to the White House, the South African native is increasingly focused on Europe. With dozens of tweets, the richest man in the world is shaping public opinion, particularly targeting the UK and Germany. Last Thursday, for example, Musk had a LIVE chat with AfD leader Alice Weidel.
