French journalist Sebastien Gobert rode a bicycle from Lviv to Brussels in order to raise funds for the unit in which his friend, the Frenchman Jonathan, defends Ukraine.

French journalist Sebastien Gobert covered the route from Lviv to Brussels in 25 days on a bicycle. He announced this on his Facebook page.

For 25 days of travel, Gober covered more than 2136 kilometers, although he had previously planned 1700 km. During this time, he stopped twice for a longer period – in Polish Szczecin and German Berlin.

In total, the journalist visited 5 countries – Ukraine, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. During this time, he had two rainy days and several such evenings, he never had a flat bicycle tire, he drank four beers, smoked 20 cigarettes, ate “countless goodies”, and “a million dogs” barked at him.

In total, Sebastien managed to collect more than 315 thousand hryvnias (6,959 euros). According to him, 170 people transferred funds. The funds will be given to volunteers who will purchase a pickup truck for the French volunteer Jonathan and his unit that protects Ukraine.

As Sebastien says on his LinkedIn, he moved to Ukraine in 2011 and since then has been working as an independent journalist, was a correspondent for Radio France Internationale, Libération, Ouest France, Le Monde Diplomatique, Mediapart, La Tribune de Genève, La Libre Belgique, RTS, RTBF, etc. Now he runs his YouTube channel.
