Two people died of drowning on Sunday in the Pyrenees-Orientales. The firefighters intervened at the end of the afternoon to rescue a four-year-old girl in the Gouleyrous gorges, near Tautavel. Despite the efforts of witnesses, then of the fire brigade, she could not be revived.
An hour earlier, a 35-year-old man has been taken from the Mediterranean by witnesses, to Canet-en-Roussillon, a town located at about ten kilometers from Perpignan. Severe; again, the cardiac massages practiced by the rescuers proved in vain.
