A red sculpture depicting Russian President Vladimir Putin mounted on a toy tank was installed on a playground in New York's famous Central Park. This reports the American television channel CBS news.

The work was created by French artist James Colomina, who is known for placing his red statues in unconventional places without prior announcement.

“This sculpture aims to denounce the absurdity of war and highlight the courage of children when faced with violent, catastrophic situations caused by others”, — wrote a street artist in an post on Instagram about the statue, referring to Russia's war in Ukraine and the role of Putin himself in it. — pour sand on it and shoot it with water pistols, the newspaper writes.

Kolomina's Instagram also features two other identical red Putin statues placed in parks around the world. In July, one of them was created in Barcelona's Joan Miro Park. A month before, one of them appeared in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris.
