Maintaining a good relationship with your ex-spouse has a positive effect on your reputation. They emphasize that people retained respect for each other, but broke up because of cooled feelings, because of different characters or life goals. In some cases, trying to “just be friends” can cause certain problems. In the course of the study, psychologists found out from 450 volunteers of both sexes their attitude towards ex-husbands and wives. Some see an ex-spouse or ex-spouse as a “fallback airport” if something goes wrong in a new relationship. 40% of respondents in the US continue to communicate with their ex. At the same time, 93% of people began to do it a few months after the breakup.

Psychologists do not maintain such connections, as they can create discomfort. A person can inflame with a new feeling for a former wife or husband, and begin to suffer. At the same time, existing relationships will be under threat. In some cases, new couples do not tell each other about their past married life and avoid dating their ex-wife or husband.
