Andrés Rodríguez, who belongs to the revocation committee, also pointed out that an act of corruption as big as the Registry building in Bogotá is being seen
Rodríguez also warned his followers, colleagues in the recall process, and the public in general, that the decision of the Registrar was proof that the country is under “a supposed dictatorship by the national registrar Alexander Vega.” Photo: Infobae Colombia Archive.
Once the decision of the Special Registry of Civil Status of Medellín was known not to certify the financial statements presented by the committee promoting the revocation “The pact for Medellín will save you because we love you, we are going to save you”, one of the leaders of the initiative, Andrés Rodríguez, rejected the determination and denounced that it would constitute an alleged prevarication and an alleged fraud in judicial resolution.< /p>
“Here we are seeing an alleged fraud judicial resolution and an alleged prevarication the same size as the Registry building in Bogotá,” Rodríguez said through a video posted on Twitter.
Rodríguez also warned his supporters, colleagues in the recall process, and the general public that the decision of the Registrar was proof that the country is under “a supposed dictatorship by the registrar National Alexander Vega”.
Faced with the decision not to certify the financial statements that were presented, Rodríguez pointed out that although the Registrar's Office notes that there would be “an apparent exceedance of the limits”, no evidence of these statements is shown, but rather the concept is involved again. of the National Fund for the Financing of Electoral Parties and Campaigns of the National Electoral Council.
“They have just denied the certification of the accounting statements because there is an apparent exceedance of the limits, but the Registry does not show why it says this and returns and is based on what the gentlemen of the CNE Campaign Fund had said, returns and involves to the CNE, trying to justify its error by not having certified the financial statements of the revocation on time, whose requirements were: that the signatures be approved, and they were approved, and that the financial statements be delivered on time and that the Registrar's Office itself said whether or not they exceeded the limits and did not do so on time.”
The member of the committee for the recall of Daniel Quintero also called on citizens to “open their eyes” because, for him, if things continue like this, in 2023 there would be no guarantees for the regional elections that will take place in October for those who are not aligned with the Historical Pact or with the “corruption wing of the Registry officials”.
“Gentlemen, either we open our eyes or next year there will be no electoral guarantees of any kind for any person who is not from the wing of the Historical Pact or who is not from the wing of the corruption of the officials of the Registry, and the rest leaders and good people who want to aspire to a position of popular election, well, they will have to face this dictatorship, where, at ease, things are certified or not certified by a registrar.”
The following are Rodríguez's statements:
On the night of November 22, the Special Registry of Civil Status of Medellín closed the door on the revocation of the mayor of Medellín after he did not certify the financial statements of the promoter committee, since these would have exceeded the funding limits for this type of citizen initiatives.
“Not certifying compliance with the constitutional and legal requirements of the revocation of the mandate called “The pact for Medellín will save you because we love you, we are going to save you”, in the understanding that the financial statements of the campaign to collect support delivered by the promoter committee reflected the exceedance of the individual limits allowed by the National Electoral Council”, can be read in the decision of the Special Civil Status Registrar of Medellín, Hilda Luz Jara Vélez
In the decision, the Special Registrar of Medellín warns that there is no appeal whatsoever.
In view of the decision of the Registrar's Office, Mayor Quintero, via Twitter, celebrated:
“The fraudulent revocation is definitively dropped but that does not mean that we won the battle. They will try in every way and with all their heads to do harm. They are 10-headed vipers ready for anything.”
The surprising thing about the entity's decision is that it was announced hours after the Administrative Court of Antioquia ordered the revocation to be unlocked and to call the elections in eight days.
