Pro-Russian hackers attacked a number of Italian government institutions

Pro-Russian hackers have attacked a number of Italian government institutions, including the websites of the Foreign Ministry and two Milan airports, reports Reuters.

It is known that the failure led to a temporary outage of the specified resources.

The pro-Russian hacker group Noname057(16) has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Telegram, stating that Italian “Russophobes are getting their deserved punishment cyber response”.

It is worth noting that a representative of the Italian cybersecurity agency indicated that it was likely a “distributed denial of service” (DDoS) attack, which involves overloading the network with a large amount of traffic to paralyze it.

The cyber attack did not affect flights at Linate and Malpensa airports.
