The Laval Rocket announced early Sunday morning that the training session scheduled at the Bell Center during the day was canceled “as a preventive measure”.
The lack of detail in the announcement suggests the move is linked to the club’s COVID-19 prevention protocol. It has not yet been possible to know which situation was at the source of this cancellation.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for the team indicated that this situation did not follow the withdrawal of Josh Anderson from the game between the Canadiens and the Calgary Flames on Saturday night. In the second period, the Habs announced that Anderson would not be back in the game. After the match was concluded, Claude Julien confirmed that medical staff sent him home because he was showing flu-like symptoms.
Julien added that his player had passed a COVID-19 test on the spot and that the result was negative. Anderson is expected to take an additional test this Sunday, while the Canadian is on leave.
